Martial Arts Personal Training (MAPT) offers many advantages, while contributing to your fitness. MAPT specializes in teaching Chinese Kung Fu, tai chi, weapons skills and self-defense while also offering you the integration of gym resistance training to suit your needs, programmes ranging from weight loss, muscle gains, sports specifics and injury rehabilitation.
The physical conditioning and mental focus provided by martial arts and gym resistance has led me to develop strength training exercises and routines that are specific to helping you learn the martial arts and also help you improve your fitness and physique. Many martial arts traditional routines are still practiced today, with a large variety of new routines being developed for modern needs and wants, and today's fitness enthusiast.
MAPT systems have been developed over many years of practical experience, and combines techniques from many disciplines and cultures to help you reach your goals and achieve optimal results. We will use many different pieces of training equipment which will include, for example, free weights, focus pads, medicine balls and resistance bands. You will also learn traditional kung fu boxing and weapons training ranging from broad swords, pole and fan in order to teach you martial arts and maximise your workout and guarantee results. The use and execution of all the different apparatus will contribute to the building of force and power in the whole body while focus is directed at controlling the core. Also the strength being built in the upper body will encourage the maintenance of balance through the use of good leg strength which will help improve speed, agility, focus and coordination.

MAPT workshops consist of dynamic physical participation with a master personal trainer or assistant instructor on a specific style of exercises. These workshops will cover different styles of training including strength, endurance, power and speed. Also sessions will focus on Kung fu self defence combinations and techniques, followed by partner work to reinforce the technique and free play to learn spontaneous applications.
MAPT workshops provide an excellent opportunity to enhance your fitness and knowledge of the martial arts. Chinese Martial Arts is one of China's national treasures. At the same time, it is also a sport enjoyed by all, around the world, for fitness and self defence.

I have trained with Frank for over a 3 year period, prior to training with him I found myself lacking in motivation, and I wasn't able to get the attention I needed to achieve my fitness goals of shaping and toning. Since training with Frank I have toned my body significantly through an interesting and varied martial arts and weights program. In addition to this Frank has also assisted me in my sport specific training, which has increased my strength, power and movement on the tennis court. My program was interesting, educational and tailored to my needs.
Frank Riggio has been my Personal Trainer and Teacher for the last 3- 4 years. During this period of training with Frank I have seen the most dramatic and amazing results in my body form, stamina, posture and general body shape. I have trained in ways I have never before and loved it. Frank Riggio gives to your training another dimension as he is exceptionally knowledgeable on any part of the body. I first started training with Frank for the Paris Marathon in 2007. He focused my training in the gym on back and abdominal muscles. I improved my time of 20 minutes in only few months thanks to a better posture while running. Frank also has been a great support for losing weight. His speciality is Martial Arts and he makes the Martial Arts weapons very approachable. He always re-invents himself and his training. You can never get bored with Frank's cardio circuits and Martial Arts routines.
Prior to working with Frank, I have had significant experience with different personal trainers over a number of years. Training with Frank clearly stands out: his enormous versatility, the functionality of the exercises, and the continuous challenge is unmatched. Overall I have been working out for almost 20 years; training with Frank provided me with a step change in terms of all major parameters, strength, endurance and muscle volume. Frank has been my personal trainer for three years, one hour twice a week.
